Autumn Gasshuku

Last weekend , Fri.Sat/Sun

saw the SGKA (Scottish Goju Ryu Karate-do Association) hold its annual Gasshuku
in Lochgelly and Glenrothes.

Over 70 attendees on the Saturday, kids from 7 to adults around 50 years old attended.
All the clubs training in IOGKF goju yru in Scotland came together under
the instruction of Sensei Roy Flatt 7th dan

Sensei Flatt is a member of the English association and holds the very rare title of Shihan.(teacher of teachers) or master,
this is awarded to very few western instructors.

Sensei Roy is well know nationaly and internationaly at gassshukus as an instructor who teaches very practical
yet simple self-defence.

Training included practical applications, Kata, focus pads,
traditional body and weight training using chichi stones (stone lever weights) for grip, hand and shoulder power development.

The kids had shorter sessions of 2hr per day which included fitness and fun but practical drills.

A great weekend.
